Final Fantasy: Phoenix

The real life story:

Sometimes things happen and players realize that the only way to explore new avenues is to truly explore new avenues. Several players of a long-running and much-loved RP forum decided to make a new start and explore new and old characters in new ways. This is what was born from the attempt.

The in-game story:

A year has passed since each world's finality. Heroes prevailed, and villains fell to the wayside. The Warriors of Light brought an end to Chaos, and peace reigned over the world of Paramecia. Phazos was freed from the grip of Palamecia by four brave souls. The Onion Kids, chosen by the Crystals, drove the Cloud of Darkness out of the Dual Worlds. Cecil Harvey found his light, and vanquished Zeromus, who plotted to conquer the Blue Planet. Bartz and his allies returned Exdeath to his sealed state, protecting the Merged World from his wrath. The World of Balance was restored by the Esper-Child, Terra, who slew the God of Magic. The Planet has survived one catastrophe after another, still recovering from Omega Weapon. Ultimecia was slain, bringing peace to the triple-world of Geryona. The Angel of Death became a guardian of life, preventing the death of Gaia. Spira was spared the wrath of two ancient symbols of war. The struggles of Vana'Diel persist, as they always have. Ivalice no longer suffers the tyranny of Archadia, or the wrath of Feolthanos...

Not soon after these events, great machines from the land of Ivalice appeared within the other worlds. Leaving behind powerful Crystals, the worlds were linked, for the very first time. New power surged through them all.

Old companions return. Old threats are reborn. All things return anew.
