Appearance: Riku is tall, lanky but muscular. He has long, silver-colored hair, and bright blue eyes. He is usually seen wearing either a typical Organization XIII robe, complete with black gloves and boots, or a white vest with yellow trim, a black undershirt, and a pair of jeans.

Personality: Riku is usually antisocial, going out of his way to avoid talking to people. When he does speak, he comes off as cold, arrogant, and cocky. Around his friends, however, he's a totally different person, able to laugh and joke casually, even ribbing Sora several times.Riku is, in every sense of the word, selfless. He will do absolutely anything for his friends, even going so far as to throw himself into Darkness in a desperate attempt to save Kairi. He even supports Sora's relationship with Kairi, despite liking her himself; he will do anything for the happiness of his friends. Riku loves to fight, regardless of who it is; friend or enemy, he always enjoys a good brawl.

Weapons: Keyblades; Souleater, Way to the Dawn, and the Dark Keyblade.

Fighting Style: Riku is an amazing fighter, surpassing even Sora in speed, strength, and battle tactics. He uses a mix of close quarters sword techniques, and long-range spells and dark orbs.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Affinities: Riku is one of the top keymasters, surpassed only by King Mickey himself. He complements this with a wide array of spells. Riku, among the keymasters, boasts one of the highest defensive abilities, in the form of a shield of impenetrable Darkness. Having embraced the Darkness within himself, he can open the Corridors of Darkness, and summon Heartless to do his bidding. He wields his keyblade one-handed, for faster, more relentless attacks, almost dancing around his opponent as he takes them apart piece by piece. he is a very practical thinker, using shock tactics and surprising strategies to completely overwhelm his opponent.

Weaknesses: Riku will never be considered a master spellcaster, the only magic he has being learned from Maleficent and picked up from watching Sora. When any of his friends are put in harm's way, he goes berserk, and forgets about his own personal safety.

History:

Riku was born on Destiny islands, along with his two closest friends, Kairi and Sora. One day, while exploring a cave along with Sora, the two came across a doorway, one which, he believed, led to another world, like one where Kairi came from. On the day of their departure, Riku, unable to forget about the door even after the long years, went back to the cave and opened the door, releasing a flood of Heartless. While Sora escaped, Riku was flung through the Doorway to Darkness, and ended up meeting Maleficent, who corrupted his mind, telling him Sora had replaced him and Kairi with Donald and Goofy, his two new compatriots. Riku, slowly becoming more and more corrupt, believes the only way to save Kairi's heart is to take up a Keyblade of his own, the Souleater, and assist Maleficent. After trying to force Sora to join him twice, Riku continues with his plot, now wielding the Dark Keyblade, the only Keyblade in existence with the power to unlock hearts. Now possessed by Xehanort's heartless, Riku attacks Sora, trying to take Kairi's heart from within him. Sora impales himself after beating his former friend, releasing her heart. Xehanort's heartless, now free of Riku's body, attacks Donald, Goofy, and the newly revived Kairi, but Riku, free, now, of the taint, defeats the Heartless, forcing it back into his own body, where it now overtakes him completely. After Sora defeated Xehanort's Heartless, Riku, now on the other side of the Door to Darkness, assists Sora in sealing the door, telling his friend "Whatever you do, take care of Kairi".



Riku, now allied with DiZ, kidnaps Roxas, forcing him into a virtual replica of Twilight Town and erasing his memories. Roxas, after hearing the truth from Namine, eventually rejoins with Sora. Riku, after geting what he wanted and having Sora awaken, breaks off from DiZ, disgusted by his former ally's motives. Riku comes to Kairi's rescue after Axel, desperate to revive his friend Roxas, tries to use her to turn Sora into a Heartless. Riku dropped her off in Twilight Town, where she met up with Hayner, Pence, and Olette. Riku reappeared several times, leaving clues for Sora and helping him where he could. Later, Namine and Kairi, facking Saix, were rescued by Riku. Namine called him by name, and kairi, excited to finally see Riku after so long, pulls off the hood, only to be confronted by the face of Xehanort's Heartless. Riku, to gain the power necessary to protect his friends, had given himself completely to the darkness. He later gives Kairi her own Keyblade, so that she could protect herself. Sora, after Xigbar's defeat, reunites with the two, where Riku quickly tries to leave. Kairi stops him, showing his face to Sora who, after a second, finally sees his old friend beneath his odd new appearance. Riku, now with Sora and friends in tow, race to go stop Xemnas. They eventually encounter DiZ, who, it turns out, is the real Ansem the Wise. The machine he was using to transform Kingdom Hearts into data exploded, causing hearts to rain down on the earth and reverting Riku's transformation. Namine opens a door for the two, allowing them to follow Xemnas, for the final battle. Xemnas was no match for the combined might of the two keyblade wielders, and was defeated, leaving the pair standed in the World of Darkness. After stumbling across a message in a bottle, Riku hands it to Sora; A message from Kairi. Sora opens a door to Destiny Islands, where they meet up with Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Kairi. Later, the two started discussing the Door to the Light that Sora had opened, when Kairi, message from King Mickey in hand, walks up, interrupting the two.

I believe the way to dawn is the dark keyblade unless you are talking about Oblivion in which case Roxas already has.

Err no, I meant the Keyblade he used in KH 1, the one made to open the final keyhole, not Oblivion. The one that needed Kairi's heart.
